So. Cool. My wife is famous.

This morning, Michelle was a featured guest on the NPR program On Point with Tom Ashbrook. I’m a complete public radio nerd and have been a Tom Ashbrook fan from the very beginning, so for me, this was much bigger than the segments she had on ABC and the CBS Evening News recently. Granted, he mangled the hell out our last name, but besides that, it was great. I am this close to being able to punch paparazzi on the red carpet. Does NPR have a red carpet?

Michelle was on the programs talking about her role in Lemonade, a documentary about how people can reinvent themselves after losing their jobs. It was written and produced by my friend and former Arnold (an ad agency here in Boston) colleague Erik Proulx. Last year, Michelle was also laid off from Arnold. And like Erik, she has managed to turn the setback into an opportunity. She had always wanted to get out of advertising; losing her job allowed her to take a chance that seemed too risky from the comfort of her cubicle. She now runs her own company, Find Your Balance, and works as a holistic health counselor and yoga instructor. She’s gone from greasing the wheels of capitalism to removing the grease from diets. She loves it.

Living with Michelle is like waking up next to walking, talking inspirational calendar everyday. She’s doing what she loves, and while it’s not always easy, it’s always worth it. The segment on NPR was great, make sure to check it out!
