nsb  My Famous Wife.

January 2, 2010.

This morning, Michelle was a guest on the NPR program On Point. I’m a total public radio nerd and have been an Tom Ashbrook fan from the very beginning, so for me, this was a much bigger deal than her appearances on ABC and the CBS Evening News recently.

Michelle was on the program talking about her role in Lemonade, a documentary about how people reinvent themselves after losing their jobs. It was written and produced by my friend and former Arnold colleague Erik Proulx. Like Erik, Michelle was laid off from Arnold. And also like Erik, she has managed to turn the setback into an opportunity.

Losing her job allowed Michelle to take a chance that seemed too risky from the bland comfort of her cubicle: running her own holistic health practice. She’s gone from greasing the wheels of capitalism to removing the grease from diets, with clients all around the world.

Living with Michelle is like waking up next to walking, talking inspirational calendar everyday. She’s doing what she loves, and while it’s not always easy, it’s always worth it. The segment on NPR was great, check it out.
